ARUBA: Heavenly beaches and wrecks

Are you a wreck diver? If you answered YES, then you must dive in Aruba. Less visited by divers, Aruba is neighbour to Bonaire et Curaçao and is located 15 miles North of the coast of Venezuela.

Aruba is famous for its wrecks and the most famous of all is without a doubt the Antilla, a German freighter scuttled by its capitain in 1940 when Germany invaded Holland. The wreck mesures over 400 feet and is broken in 2 sections. The maximum depth is of approximately 55 feet and it is possible to penetrate the wreck. Visibility is incredible (over 150 feet), the wreck is covered with coral and fish are everywhere! Before diving the Antilla, we were alomost expecting it to be a 'tourist trap'. Our expectations were not very high, in fact, we alomst skipped the dive. Good thing we changed our minds. The wreck of the Antilla is amazing and must not be missed if diving in Aruba. You could easily dive it several times and still find things to discover.

Aside from the many wrecks, Aruba's reefs are very healthy and several different species of fish and other creatures can be seen.
